"Lana Del Rey - Young and Beautiful "-Bob

"The DAFT PUNK CATALOG" -Pete

Are You Working On Any Projects?

"We’re currently involved in a couple projects. We’re in the final stages of the second part of the album.  We also have two new songs tracked at Converse Rubber Tracks that we are working towards completion for a single.  We’re also planning an acoustic album of a few of our songs in December." -Pete

How Long Have you All Known Each Other?

"We’ve been a band for 4 years." -Pete

"Jan and Pete were in a reggae band a while back too, they have actually been making music together since they were kids." -Samantha

How Did You Meet?

"Jan and I met first when I was doing my solo stuff. He saw me sing on a open mic night and loved my voice. He suggested we start a real band with a larger than life sound because I had too powerful a voice to be sitting on a stool in the back of a cafe.  So, Jan thought to bring his guitar playing friend, Pete, over because they were in a previous band together and thought we would create a great sound. He was correct, and with him on the keyboard, we were magical right away.  We were a trio for about 4 months until I thought of my friend Bob, who was actually the drummer for two other bands at the time. We had ONE rehearsal/jam together and have been family ever since! Bob left both other bands, we moved in together, got a rehearsal space, and started performing right away, and have NOT stopped. We're truly best friends, we write everything together as a team, everything is shared, even down to the exact percentages of publishing, no matter who wrote what." -Samantha

What Genre Off Music Do You Consider Your Work To Be?

"Back when there were physical record stores, people needed to now in which section to find your music. That's not really the case anymore with digital distribution.  Additionally, with the internet, artists are now able to sample sonic fruits from the world over, and by incorporating these influences, as well as new technologies into traditional genres, we've effectively blurred or even erased those archaic boundaries.  All that being said, "atmospheric rock" or "ethereal rock" have, so far, seemed to aptly describe our sound." -Jan

Tell Us Something About You Most People Don't Know:

"Jan is the inventor of the piano key neck tie and will be replacing his keyboards with a keytar for the upcoming shows, LOL" -Pete

"There may or may not be nights where the four of us put on our TAE pj's and play poker while drinking homemade frozen mango margaritas. We may or may not pound on the table and chant "Fun drinks, Fun drinks" each time we hear the sound of a blender." -Jan

Who Are Your Musical Influences?

"The main influences span from Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Radiohead" -Pete

"Stevie Nicks, Bjorke, Lauren Hill, Whitney Houston, and Nina Simone"-Samantha

"I really dig Lee Scratch Perry and King Tubby. So many of the modern pop and EDM audio effects came from these Jamaican visionaries.  I had moments during my pre-med years where I truly thought I eventually would study the therapeutic effects of reggae music.  "Oh, you're depressed? Take 20 minutes in the hyperbaric dub chamber and call me in the morning!" -Jan

What Was Your Very First Job?

"I was a short order cook making crepe suzettes in a diner."-Pete

"Bagging groceries all summer to pay for my first drum set. I also had to collect the carts from the parking lot and change the garbage bags in the bins outside. Once I got stung by a bee.  I was too young to drive so I had to ride my bike 5 miles to get to work. It wasn't so bad though, a couple of the cashiers were pretty cute." -Bob

"Hostess at IHOP"-Samantha

Do You Have Any Hidden Talents?

"Bob wouldn't tell you, but he's actually very talented at doing voice overs! I possess the talent to play a mean air guitar, no joke!" -Samantha

What Are Your Long-Term Career Goals?

"Our long term goals are to keep making the music we love and tour the world to share it with everyone."-Pete

"To no longer trade time for money, but instead, to be financially and creatively independent. Once there, the objective would be the same one we have now: to distill all of our thoughts and experiences into the fine spirit we call The Attic Ends music, and then share it with the world. Cheers!" -Jan

What Is Some Advice You Would Give To Someone Wanting To Form Their Own Band?

"Make sure you are doing it for the right reasons. It has to be about the music, about the passion to share your thoughts and words. Every member must want it as much as you do, because when you are in a band, there is NO room for ego. The song must always be KING." -Samantha

"Keep an open mind towards the musical styles and creative forces of everyone involved because the sound derived from that process will create the identity of your band."-Pete

"That's Awesome! Do it! But, do it like you mean it. You gotta practice like everyday. And you gotta believe in yourself and your band mates. It can be a very fulfilling lifestyle, but you are going to have to give up things like money and not being cool. " -Bob
